Update: Neblio Community Buildathon Submission Window Is Now Closed

Thanks to everyone who has shown an interest in, or participated in our first buildathon event! As part of Developer Central’s efforts to help spread awareness of the Neblio blockchain platform and it’s utilization in apps and games, we have seen many new members from across the dev community acquainting themselves with this exciting tech. You can learn more about Neblio and the type of solutions it can provide developers and enterprises with, on the official Neblio website and if you would like to get hands on and try some Neblio based development yourself, join us over in the Dev Central discord server. We are a small but growing developer community focused around Neblio and are committed to building a group consisting of talented and forward thinking devs, who are looking to build useful and interesting applications that solve many problems in today’s world.

We began our buildathon community based funding phase in July, during a difficult and testing time, against the backdrop of a global health crisis, but in spite of this, and being aware of the hardships faced by many, both financially, mentally and physically, we still managed to raise a very respectable sum of money which went into a prize fund (in NEBL tokens) for the winning participants, so thanks again for all who contributed and helped spread the word on their social media channels and beyond.

We had a total of 12 sign-ups from teams and developers looking at taking on the challenge of coming up with an app that integrated the Neblio blockchain in some interesting way. We were impressed at the speed of which, many developers both participants, and non participants, managed, with minimal assistance from Neblio core and Dev Central developers, how to work with the Neblio Restful APIs and begin coding in the language they are most familiar with. Whilst we anticipated a higher number of completed projects, the number of registrations did not quite translate to submissions, this could be for a number of reasons, however we do have three interesting projects to take a look at and following this update, we will present the teams and projects that made it across the line.

We still feel the buildathon has been an excellent catalyst to help kick up developer activity and we have some that are currently exploring Neblio as a solution for their projects. Moving forward, we believe there is so much more to come and this is just the beginning for Neblio, in a world which is seeing a surge in blockchain adoption in various industries across the globe.

As we enter the final stage of the buildathon, we need your help! Once projects have gone live, we will prepare a community vote, where you will select your favourite project. Whilst community voting gets underway, judges will begin taking a detailed look at the project entries and rendering their verdicts to decide the overall winner and the 2nd and 3rd place positions. Due to the low number of total submissions, we have a three way shootout between the teams to decide who will claim the top prize and bragging rights of being the Neblio Community Buildathon 2020 winner. Stay tuned for the project showcase coming up!

The confirmed project submissions are as follows:

IntegrumX - Blood Moon
Bolas Mars Society - Mars One: Genesis
Neblio Demos - Forge Wallet
